Google is facing difficulties in maintaining secrecy around its upcoming Pixel devices, as leaked information about the Pixel 8 Pro continues to emerge. Recently, two photos of the highly anticipated flagship were shared on Reddit, offering an authentic glimpse of its front and rear in real-world usage. Although the original images were swiftly removed from Reddit, Droidlife managed to obtain a copy, enabling us to analyze the leaked photos.
While the Pixel 8 Pro maintains the recognizable Pixel design, there are noticeable differences compared to its predecessor, the Pixel 7 Pro. The rear photo reveals a new triple-camera arrangement, now integrated within a single glass oval, eliminating the separate telephoto lens seen in the 7 Pro.
Intriguingly, a new sensor capable of measuring body temperature can be observed below the flash. Unfortunately, no further information about the camera specifications has been disclosed. However, earlier leaks suggest the presence of a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 64-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 48-megapixel telephoto lens.
Additionally, on the rear of the phone, there is a sticker indicating it is a prototype test unit labeled “Zuma,” which corresponds to Google’s codename for their Tensor G3 processor. Another interesting aspect is the presence of a line pattern on the lower part of the phone. However, it is uncertain if this design element will be included in the final product, which is planned for release later in the year.
The leaked photo of the front of the Pixel 8 Pro reveals the phone’s fastboot screen, which references “Husky” as the rumored codename for the device. The screen also displays impressive specifications, such as 12GB of Samsung LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Furthermore, it seems that Google has opted for a flat display instead of the curved screen design seen in previous versions.
It is important to note that this is not the first time we have seen glimpses of the Pixel 8 Pro. In March, renders of the device with a similar design surfaced online, and the phone unofficially appeared in an internal Google video leak in May. The current leaked images align with the changes indicated in those previous leaks, further reinforcing the expectations surrounding its official unveiling later this year.
